Riverbeki Assam Orthodox Black Tea 100 g - Bold, Malty & Whole Leaf Experience

Assam is one of the world's great tea-growing regions, and CTC is how most of it is processed — fast, efficient, consistent. Orthodox processing is the older, slower way. The leaf is rolled rather than cut, keeping it whole and allowing a more gradual, nuanced oxidation. The result is a cup that has more layers than a standard CTC: the same bold Assam malt at the core, but with a longer finish, a more complex character, and a depth that reveals itself more slowly.

Riverbeki's Assam Orthodox is a whole leaf black tea — not broken, not dust. The full leaf matters: it brews more cleanly, produces less astringency, and gives you a cup that is genuinely worth slowing down for.

• Whole Leaf Orthodox Processing — Rolled, not cut. The leaf stays intact, the flavour stays complete. A noticeably different experience from CTC.
• Bold & Malty Assam Character — The origin comes through fully: the characteristic warmth, depth, and natural malt of upper Assam, expressed through a traditional process.
• Single Origin — Sourced from Assam's quality belt, unblended. No mixing with other origins or grades.
• No Additives — Pure orthodox Assam leaf, nothing else. The flavour is the leaf's own.
• Naturally Rich in Antioxidants — Whole leaf retains more of its natural polyphenol content than broken-grade teas. Supports cardiovascular health, sustained focus, and general wellbeing.

Good brewed black, at around 95°C for 3–4 minutes, without milk — though a splash works well too. The orthodox whole leaf can be re-steeped once, and the second cup is often a gentler, more revealing version of the first.
