This is the Silver Needle that has been allowed more time. Where the first flush Silver Needle is all freshness and delicacy, the Upper Darjeeling Silver Needle has been matured — and the difference is perceptible from the first sip. The woody, warm notes that emerge through the maturation process give this cup a depth and a roundness that is rarer and, for many tea drinkers, more interesting than the brighter spring version.

Still made from 100% handpicked silver buds. Still minimally processed and completely free of additives. But the character has settled into something quieter and more considered — less about first impressions, more about what stays with you.

In the Cup

  • Colour: Pale gold with a slight depth, clear
  • Aroma: Soft, warm, woody — with a faint honey sweetness beneath
  • Taste: Mellow, smooth, and naturally sweet with a woody undertone and a long, clean finish
  • Caffeine: Very low — the quietest cup in the Riverbeki range
  • Matured Silver Needle — The maturation process deepens the character, adding woody and warm notes that cannot be found in fresh first flush white tea.
  • Upper Darjeeling Origin — Sourced from high-altitude Darjeeling gardens, where slow growth produces a more concentrated, complex leaf from the very start.
  • 100% Silver Bud Grade — Pure unopened buds, handpicked. No leaves, no stems, no mixed grades.
  • Rare & Small Batch — Both the origin and the maturation process limit availability. This is not a mass-market product.
  • Exceptional Antioxidant Profile — Aged white tea is known to develop and concentrate certain polyphenols over time. Very low in caffeine; exceptionally high in beneficial compounds. Supports skin health, immunity, and gentle, sustained calm.

How to Brew: 75–80°C, 2–3 minutes, 2g per 200ml. Re-steep twice. Each steep softens further and reveals the woody, warm quality more clearly.

Available in 50g. A considered choice for anyone who takes white tea seriously.
